American Revolution - Chapter Two? -Terence Guardino

Pluto enters Capricorn January 2008 through 2024. Capricorn rules government, business and authority. The last time Pluto transited Capricorn was 1762 – 1778, which was dominated by the American Revolution and the signing of our Declaration of Independence.

Pluto rules anarchy, transformation, and power. When Pluto entered Capricorn the last time the world experienced the emergence of the middle class fighting for individual rights, which ignited the French and American Revolutions. Pluto before in Capricorn brought the breakdown of the old power structures and created a new consciousness and political ideology called democracy. Will the next cycle of Pluto transiting Capricorn bring the end of our corrupted and greedy government in bed with business and corporate powers and restore our idealism and values made real back in 1776?

In my opinion the middle class has lost its voice in the US government, which originally was formed to protect the rights of all of its citizens and has been sidetracked and taken hostage by corporations and elite ruling interests. Pluto rules the underworld in mythology and therefore secrets and all that is hidden from our consciousness. But when Pluto surfaces from the underworld or when it comes into the consciousness of the individual or of mankind then all that was in the dark comes into the light to be exposed and transformed as will all be revealed soon when George Bush leaves Washington DC. I don't believe that the Bush administration created corruption but I do believe it became drunk with power as no other government since the kings of Europe which caused the American Revolution in the first place. When the current administration leaves office I do predict that many ugly and self-serving secrets will be revealed that could ignite the same anger and passions that founded this once great country. In other words, it may get worse before it gets better.

Many of you have heard about the Mayan Prophecy that the world as we know it will end in the year of 2012. I believe that is part of a new consciousness of international brotherhood which is one of the themes of the emerging Age of Aquarius which we can definitely see unfolding because of the Internet leveling the playing field and the instantaneous connecting of all of us. Uranus is a planet that rules Aquarius and therefore human and individual rights as well as the middle class and democracy. Uranus was discovered in 1781 reflecting a new consciousness of freedom, individualism and democracy that was fought for during the American and then the French Revolution.

Uranus has an 84 year cycle and will enter the sign Aries 2011 - 2019 when the prophecies of the Mayans may be revealed. When Uranus is in Aries it forms stress and challenges to the signs of Cancer (the birth sign of America), Libra, and Capricorn. The last time Uranus transited Aries was 1927 to 1935 when the world experienced a global depression was also when Pluto was in the sign of Cancer which was 1914 to 1939. Pluto was discovered in 1930 during the time when the Atomic Bomb was being secretly developed and the Nazi's and Fascist's were spreading their hate and control throughout Europe.

Aries clashes with Cancer but also Capricorn and Libra. Therefore the period of 1927 through 1935 was when Pluto was in challenging aspect to Uranus and this same dynamic will be happening when Uranus enters Aries again and conflicts with Pluto in Capricorn from 2011 to 2019. Will we have another global depression or the building of the next World War or will it be the rising of the middle class who will fight to take back its principals of democracy. But first many government and corporate laws will have to be rewritten to protect the people and not those in power which may be the period of the next American Revolution that is rumbling underground with discontent of the people and may very well explode when Uranus enters Aries by 2011. Perhaps the Mayan Prophecy is a new world consciousness where all people of all nations come together in unity instead of the past pattern of separation. Global warming and international terrorism have torn the world apart but maybe the silver lining will the the realization that we have to all come together or we all perish which is the gift of the emerging Age of Aquarius and therefore I am optimistic but sad that so many of us will have to suffer more before we collectively wake up and save the world for a new generation.

How the price of oil will awaken a green economy. - Terence Guardino

Oil and gas are associated with the sign of Pisces and it’s ruling planet Neptune. Uranus is transiting Pisces from 2003 through 2011. Uranus is the planet of instability, rebellion, upsets but also innovation and invention. Uranus transits Pisces once every 84 years. The last time was April 1919 through March 1927. This was the period of prohibiting alcohol and the Roaring Twenties that lead to the great stock market crash. The current cycle of Uranus transiting Pisces is obviously a time when the price oil and gas are highly unpredictable and unstable but with an opportunity to dramatically change how the world uses these natural resources.

Uranus will enter Aries March 2011 through March 2019. Aries is an adventurous sign that forges into unknown territories, takes bold risks and takes the lead with original ideas. Uranus was last in Aries from April 1927 until March 1935 marking the end of the Roaring Twenties, the stock market crash, and the beginning of the Depression that brought many changes such as the New Deal, the WPA, and our Social Security. Uranus is liberating, unpredictable and it changes everything abruptly as reflected during the last cycle and also when the US banking system was overhauled and improved during the Roosevelt administration.

Uranus transiting through Aries could be a period when a new energy economy emerges not based on oil and gas but with alternative fuels, that could advance our planet into a bold new experiment called the Green Economy. Do not forget that the last cycle when Uranus was in Aries changed our world for the better from chaos, much like the conditions we are experiencing today. The amazing thing is that the consciousness of the world is ready for change because of the recent acceptance of global warming and the high increase in the price of oil at the same time that the planetary cycles are aligning to support a shift to alternative energy finally.


Neptune has been moving through the sign of Aquarius from January 1998 until February 2012. Aquarius rules technology and Neptune creates the vision but also inflated idealism; such as when the dotcom bubble deflated overnight after Neptune entered Aquarius. Neptune rules oil and will be moving into oil ruled Pisces in 2012. Neptune also rules transition and confusion along with a new idealistic vision towards oil. I believe there is a strong possibility with Uranus in Aries that will stimulate bold new technologies and with Neptune in Pisces that the approaching planetary cycles could mark the beginning of letting go of our dependency on oil and gas and provide a new vision and a new world economy.

Visionary Neptune was last in Pisces between 1847 and 1861. During that cycle, slavery was coming to an end in the United States and many people chased their dreams of wealth during the great gold rush. That was a period of great idealism for a better world.

Coincidentally as Uranus and Neptune shifts into different astrological signs by 2012 it also marks the end of the Mayan Calendar when on December 21, 2012, for the first time in 26,000 years, the Sun rises to conjunct the intersection of the Milky Way and the plane of the ecliptic, describing in the sky a great cross of stars and planets. The Mayan’s view the Dec. 21, 2012 date as a rebirth, the start of a new era and not the end of the world but the beginning of a new consciousness for our planet. Perhaps a new world view of protecting our natural resources and saving our planet for future generations.

Transformational Pluto is currently transiting through Capricorn that rules business and governments from January 2008 until 2023. Pluto breakdowns, overhauls, and transforms as it transits each sign. Pluto is the principal of death and rebirth. The last time Pluto was in Capricorn 248 years ago was when the US Declaration of Independence was signed to form a new democratic government that triggered the American Revolution at the same time that the French middle class was rebelling against their government. Pluto transiting Capricorn currently will overhaul our world governments and corporations. But Pluto can transform our economies and take away the powerful influences of international corporations that affects our governments. Many economies and corporations are rich and powerful because of oil but if oil is no longer the driving force then the world will see again a shift of power as when the American people rebelled during the last cycle of Pluto in Capricorn and refused to pay taxes to the British that began the American Revolution.

In conclusion, I am confident that the world economies will not evaporate and the world as we know it will not end. I know that money will begin shifting from an oil based economy to a green economy and it would be wise to begin investing in green industries and technologies where the new wealth will be generated. There will always be wealth and we are in an unprecedented cycle to jump on board at the beginning of a new emerging economy, much like when IBM, Wal-Mart or Microsoft began and we had all wished we had invested in those companies in the early years.

Great earthquakes and other disasters will affect our planet but when, where, how? - Terence Guardino

This article was prompted by the news this week that scientists predict a significant earthquake to hit California within 30 years. Additionally, I received an email from a client who mentioned that a psychic told her that Southern California could expect a major quake on September 9, 2009. So I was intrigued to look into the possibilities using astrology.

First of all earthquakes and natural disasters have been virtually impossible to predict but when examining past events you can definitely see signs of stress that could trigger a natural disaster but also war or economic upheavals. Saturn rules structures, economics, business and our Earth and Uranus rules sudden and unpredictable changes. These two planetary forces are currently approaching an opposition that will pit Saturn energies against Uranus. The first exact opposition point will be November 4, 2008. Could this be an earthquake somewhere in the world but that date sure is interesting being that it is the exact date of our national Presidential Election. Therefore one can readily see that these planetary forces will absolutely affect politics in the US which will probably affect the world stock markets - but what about natural disasters?

The last time Saturn opposed Uranus was 1965 through 1966 which was a turbulent time socially and when Vietnam was at war. Unstable Uranus had entered Virgo joining the underworld powers of Pluto from August 1962 through 1968. Governmental and strict Saturn came along and opposed both Uranus and Pluto’s energies from March 23, 1964 until March 1967. This was an explosive period politically and socially around the world when people stood up against governments and traditions. What is quite fascinating during that same period was the eruption of the Great Alaskan Earthquake of 1964 that created a major tsunami that affected Northern California on March 28, 1964 just 5 days after Saturn entered Pisces and began to restrict the planetary forces of Uranus and Pluto in Virgo.

Pluto is now in Capricorn until 2023, a cardinal sign making it more intense. Pluto rules great change and Capricorn is ruled by Saturn and thusly rules business, corporations and the Earth. Global warming will definitely be a part of the great changes in the coming years. Uranus will be entering Aries, another cardinal sign in May 2012, which will be the first 90 degree angle of tension from the conjunction of Pluto and Uranus of the mid-sixties. Saturn will already have been in the cardinal sign of Libra (Oct 29, 2009 thru Oct 5, 2012) that opposes Uranus in Aries and squares Pluto in Capricorn. These three planets form what is called a T-Square configuration and all in cardinal signs, which creates very intense forces that need to be released.

The first two exact hits between Uranus and Pluto will be June 24, 2012 and September 19, 2012 which are dates before Saturn leaves Libra that October. So I would think that the world could very well experience a major earthquake or any other type of natural disaster during the summer and fall of 2012. It is also hurricane season. But this could also be when another war becomes eminent or that a terrorist organization strikes or when the stock markets around the world begin to really plunge and maybe because of war or another terrorist attack.

I wouldn’t focus on exact dates or the form that the planetary energies will take. But I would be prepared for all possibilities so one could be better able to ride the wave whatever it will be.

Economically I think the world will be in a precarious but hopeful period during our current stressful planetary cycle because as Saturn opposes Uranus it is also in positive alignment to expansive Jupiter throughout 2008 and continuing to be in good aspect to the powerful forces of Pluto until Saturn leaves the sign of Virgo July 2010. These positive planetary energies may keep a recession short or create only a stagnant period because of the hopes that a change in the US leadership will be for the better. I do believe we all have time to build safer financial foundations or to earthquake proof our homes or prepare for another natural disaster but that time will run out by early 2012. Remember that America is borrowing huge sums of money that eventually has to be paid back or we face a financial crisis that would affect the world economy. But I would think that we will not be facing those challenges until 2012 through 2015. This same period could also be when earthquakes, volcanoes and hurricanes could be more active.

The following is a list of past natural disasters and their planetary signatures. But let’s begin with the psychic who predicts September 9, 2009 will be a major earthquake in Southern California. When I was doing my weekly tv astrology show I often received messages from psychics about earthquakes and not one ever came true but this date is interesting. I wrote above about Saturn opposing Uranus and the first hit will be on Election Day but it will also hit 4 other times; February 5, 2009, September 15, 2009 and lastly April 26, 2010. These periods and surroundings dates could all be powerful triggers for upset to our planet, or politically or economically. But looking at September 2009 we see that Saturn opposes Uranus on the 15th but in addition Saturn also is in stressful aspect to Neptune on the 12th along with Mercury in Retrograde. I would predict that something will be difficult during that month but where, when or what is impossible to predict.

The Whittier Quake in the Los Angeles area was October 1, 1987 when Saturn was approaching a conjunction but not yet exact to Uranus. But what is also more interesting is that on October 19, 1987 the US stock market lost over 22 percent in one day that eventually triggered a serious recession several years later. So again, will it be a natural disaster or a financial crisis?

The Northridge Earthquake near Los Angeles on January 17, 1994 should have been predicted or expected. Uranus was conjuncting Neptune on October 24, 1993. Saturn squared Pluto on January 1, 1994 and Mars was crossing over and conjuncting Neptune on January 17 and Uranus later that day. In other words, the Uranus Neptune conjunction that hit exact in the fall of 1993 was triggered again by explosive Mars on exactly that day, January 17th.

The Katrina Hurricane hitting New Orleans August 29, 2005 had Saturn approaching a difficult angle to Uranus, which was not exact until September 20, 2005. Another reason it is impossible to predict when these forces will effect us or our planet.

The Indonesia Quake and Tsunami on December 26, 2004. Structural Saturn was in difficult angle that year to the underworld forces of Pluto but it was not exact. But what was exact that day was impulsive and angry Mars entered Sagittarius and began a 90 degree angle of tension to unpredictable Uranus which obviously was the trigger for the earthquake but again, where, when or how?

The Great San Francisco Earthquake of April 18, 1906. Uranus was opposing Neptune on March 1, 1906, and again May 7, 1906 and expansive Jupiter would be squaring restrictive Saturn but not exact until May 20th. Again one can see that powerful planetary forces were building pressure but when? That day Mercury was retrograde and exact square to Uranus the day before and an exact square to Neptune the day of. Mercury rules news, information and communications and I would suppose that the news of this earthquake would have been upsetting to most everyone around the world.

The Great Alaskan Quake of 1964, March 28th, also triggered a major tsunami that affected much of the northwest of the United States. Uranus was conjuncting Pluto and Saturn was opposing both but not exact. However the mid-sixties was a powerful period of great change and instability on many levels.

The deadly Kanto Quake in Japan of September 1, 1923 had both Saturn and Neptune in difficult angles to Uranus throughout the year but not exact on that date.

The Lisbon Quake was one of the biggest in Europe that hit Portugal on November 1, 1755. Uranus was squaring Pluto that year much like what is approaching in 2012 and similar to the Pluto Uranus conjunction energies that triggered the 1964 Alaskan Earthquake. But nothing that day astrologically would have indicated such a huge disaster.

In summary, I would make sure that your business affairs are as secure as possible and that any investments are not speculative. If you live in hurricane or earthquake areas it would be wise to be prepared or move away to safer grounds. We do have a minimum of 3 years to get our affairs in order so look to the positive and get busy building more solid structures. I predicted this real estate slump several years ago and told many friends and clients to sell their homes and put the money in the bank until the market drops and then buy again. I guess that time I was right and I do think that the period of 2012 to 2015 will not be good for those unprepared but you have 3 years to pay off debts and save more money. When a major bottom hits those with money will become the big winners so be prepared so you too can buy investments and real estate as rock bottom prices.
