Additional Sacred Sites: Glastonbury on the fabled Isle of Avalon, including:Glastonbury Abbey – once the largest and most powerful abbey in all of England, it was the birthplace of Christianity in Britain, established by Joseph of Arimathea, who may well have brought his nephew Jesus here. It is also the reputed burial place of King Arthur & Queen Guinevere. Glastonbury Tor – a natural anomalous hill, topped with St. Michael’s tower, rises majestically from the surrounding Somerset Levels and acts as a beacon of spirituality, as it has done since Pagan times, for people of all beliefs. The Michael and Mary earth energy currents associated with the St Michael leyline form the most magical and alchemical pattern upon the Tor. Chalice Well – possibly England’s most sacred holy well, where we will be greeted by one of the guardians. They will guide us through each stage of the beautiful tranquil gardens which have been created around the well-head and invite us to drink of these healing waters. This is a perfect place to spend some time in reflection and meditation. |
